Robert C. Yeager
For the past dozen-plus years, Robert C. Yeager has written about collector cars and collector car markets for The New York Times. Prior to that he was a longtime contributing writer for Reader’s Digest. He has worked as a daily newspaper reporter, an Associated Press correspondent, and a CEO-level speechwriter for a Fortune Top 10 company.
His nonfiction book Seasons of Shame: The New Violence in Sports was reviewed in Barron’s and The New York Times, excerpted in Reader’s Digest, and featured on CBS 60 Minutes; Losing It: The Economic Fall of the Middle Class was translated, excerpted in Reader’s Digest, and ran as a four-day serialized excerpt in some 60 metropolitan newspapers. His first novel, The Romanov Stone, won an Independent Publishers’ “Ippy” for suspense/thrillers, an IndieReader Discovery Award for General Fiction at BookExpo New York, and was optioned by a prominent Hollywood film director. His new novel, The Great Mogul, was published by Rogue Phoenix Press on May 1, 2026.
Born in Los Angeles, Yeager attended Columbia University and holds degrees from Whittier College and the University of California at Berkeley. He has lived in the U.S. and London, England, and traveled in the UK, Africa, Europe, Mexico and Canada.

He was nominated for the National Magazine Award by Reader’s Digest. A resident of Oakland and The Sea Ranch, California, he is a member of the Authors Guild and the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
